About Charlesworth in North America

The parent organization of Charlesworth USA is The Charlesworth Group, a leading global supplier of publishing and production services and a well-established partner to dozens of scholarly, educational, and professional publishers. Charlesworth also works with universities presses, research institutions, professional societies, and corporate enterprises in the United States, China, and Europe. The company was founded by members of the Charlesworth family in 1928 in Huddersfield in the north of England, and grew in the publishing and printing business for decades. The company opened a China office in 1999 and expanded to the US in 2004. Charlesworth remains family owned, allowing an organizational management that prioritizes strong client communications and quality work that is produced with cutting-edge technologies at affordable prices.

Our mission is to build long-term relationships with clients helping them to affordably achieve their information dissemination goals. We do this by keeping pace with changing publishing technologies, adhering to the highest quality standards, maintaining a highly qualified and experienced staff, and working with each client to match our services with their organization's culture, structure, budget, and publishing goals. Our attention to standards of quality, service, and sustainability are reflected by the accreditations and certifications we've been awarded, including the ISO 9001 Quality Standard certification (since 2006), the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard certification (since 2008), and FSC/PEFC COC accreditation (since 2009).

The Charlesworth Group and its wholly owned subsidiaries now include offices in Wakefield (UK), Philadelphia (US) with staff also in the Washington DC area, and in Beijing (China) as well as a city suburb called Langfang. Combined, Charlesworth employs over 300 employees who work together to provide our customers with services and products carefully tailored to each customer's specific needs.

The Charlesworth Group's US Office was established May 2004 in Philadelphia, PA, to service the Group's growing list of US-based clients. This office, with additional staff in the Washington DC area, allow the US team to provide serve and communicate easily with our North American customers. Our typesetting and China rights customers in the US include Allen Press, TESOL, the National Academy of Sciences, Rockefeller University Press, the National Association of School Psychologists, and many other prestigious organizations.

The Charlesworth Group is currently chaired by L Neil Charlesworth, son of the founder, who manages the company primarily from the UK office. The Chief Executive Officer of The Charlesworth Group (USA),Inc, Adrian Stanley, is based in Philadelphia, PA.
