Brief examples of the technology and how it can be applied include...

AutoProof

Overview
AutoProof is a unique cutting-edge content solution developed by Charlesworth to process a variety of source content (Word files, database information, text documents, etc) to XML and then, through a customised typesetting interface, to completed paginated files.

Designed to produce high quality typesetting in a fraction of the usual turnaround time, the system excels in the production of STM journals but can also be applied to books, eBooks, catalogues, dictionaries, abstracts and meeting programs.

AutoProof integrates with other key industry systems such as peer review, copy-edit tools and online hosting platforms. The system is also able to handle multiple languages.

XMP enabled PDF's

Overview
PDFs for online use can be incorporated with eXtensible Metadata Platform (XMP) metadata to allow easier, more accurate searching for research articles.

Technically, XMP supports the embedding of metadata within PDF files, providing a standards-based structure for meaningful information. Article titles, author details, searchable keywords, copyright information and subject matter can all be embedded within the PDF in a format which is not only human-readable but can also be understood by software applications. Since the standard is extensible, users can also add their own custom metadata.

The Charlesworth Group's system of automated batch processing extracts information from XML files and produces standardised, validated PDF files with the XMP metadata embedded.
