News & Events: Charlesworth China Tour 2010
Including the Beijing International Book Fair
The Charlesworth Group held its 5th annual China Tour from the 30th August to the 3rd September 2010. As part of the tour we welcomed staff from the American Medical Association (AMA) including Sales Director Vida Damijonaitis, Sales Manager Jeremy T. Nielsen, and also Ceredig Williams from the Endocrinology Society, UK. Face to face meetings were arranged on an individual basis for the attendees to maximize the impact of the tour: these were with potential collaborators on an industry specific basis. Attendees also had the chance to visit the 17th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF).
As part of the tour, Ceredig Williams, of the Endocrinology Society, held meetings with the Beijing Chaoyang Diabetes Hospital, the China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation and the China International Book Trading Corporation. The meetings helped both sides to understand the potential market for the endocrinology industry and information was also made available about the products and help the Endocrinology Society could provide. During the tour Mr Williams commented:
These meetings have been very helpful to me. I'm glad to be able to participate in the tour - thanks for all your help!
Meanwhile, Vida and Jeremy from the American Medical Association (AMA) had meetings with the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, the China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, the Xi'an World Publishing Corporation, the People's Liberation Army Military Medical Library and the Library of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science (CAMS). All the meetings were successful, proving the value of sharing information and constructive discussion that only such opportunities bring. The AMA appreciated the chance to attend such activities and said they hoped we would arrange more meetings in the future. During the tour Mr Nielsen commented:
We were very impressed with the Charlesworth China operation. The team was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and did an amazing job at making the best use of our limited time in China.
