Criteria for the award was the development of a direct link between China and the Yorkshire & Humber region and the impact this had had on the business of the individual, company or organisation.
The award was presented on Thursday, 22nd February 2007 during the ‘fourth' Yorkshire & Humber Chinese New Year Dinner to celebrate ‘the Year of the Pig'.

Global Publishing: Emerging Markets, New Models.As a result of the close partnership between Charlesworth and Allen Press, this year we took a joint booth at the PSP Annual Meeting in Washington to focus on promoting the benefits of our combined offering to publishers.
The Charlesworth Group, together with The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers was pleased to hold the ALPSP / Charlesworth Awards 2006.
The three Awards recognise significant achievement in the field of learned and professional publishing. The Awards are international and open to all publishers, societies and journal owners based anywhere in the world, whether not-for-profit or commercial, regardless of size.
Following the success of last year,
The Charlesworth Group offered a fantastic prize for the winner of the 'Learned Journals' Award category - a trip to China including flights, accommodation plus sightseeing excursions and entry to the Beijing International Book Fair.
The Awards were presented at the prestigious Annual Dinner of the Association of Learned and Professional and Society Publishers on 14th September 2006 in London.

The 28th Annual Meeting was held 7-9 June 2006 at the Marriott Crystal Gateway, Arlington, Virginia USA.
BEYOND BORDERS AND BINDINGS Charlesworth exhibited at the Annual SSP Meeting in Arlington, Virginia. Adrian Stanley, Chief Operating Officer for Charlesworth USA, were all in attendance at the meeting.
Charlesworth organised a guided trip to Beijing, China to assist those unfamiliar with this exciting city to make the most of their time there. During the trip, delegates were able to discover the many opportunities this rapidly developing nation offers Publishers and Societies.
The trip was again timed to coincide with the Beijing International Book Fair, which attracts a growing number of visitors from the West and is a useful forum for learning about the Chinese market for Journals and Books.
As always there was an extensive sightseeing programme, using the local knowledge of our staff to provide a tailored service rather than the standard tourist package.
