A new language polishing service has just been launched by Charlesworth!

The service is dedicated to helping non-native English-speaking authors achieve greater success in getting their valuable scientific content published in English-language journals.

Through our extensive experience of the STM (Scientific, Technical and Medical) publishing sector globally, Charlesworth understands that there are certain barriers to publication, including language. Our specialist editing service is designed to resolve this problem for authors by reviewing their papers before they are presented to journals for peer review, removing the language barrier by amending mistakes such as incorrect use of words, spelling and grammar.

Charlesworth engages a team of native English-speaking scientific editors, specialising in STM fields to review the clarity, accuracy and appropriateness of the English in authors' papers, suggesting changes to ensure that the content presented is as readable and as accurate as possible.

Who will benefit from Charlesworth's Language Polishing service?
STM authors whose first language is not English wanting to submit their scientific research to an English-language journal. Charlesworth's service will correct or 'polish' the language in order to present the research in the best way to maximise its chances of being selected for publication. The service will remove one of the known barriers to publication at peer review stage, poor language in submissions from non-native English-speaking authors.

Note: this service does not guarantee that research will be published in a target journal. The scientific content will still need to be at the appropriate standard and the paper will still have to satisfy all of the criteria of a journal's peer review processes.
