Charlesworth to Host New Technologies Information Event

On 30th June 2010 The Charlesworth Group is to host an event to encourage better understanding of the latest technologies available for online and print-based publishing, using their technological expertise in the STM, scholarly and professional publishing sectors.

Entitled 'Focus on Technology: Guiding publishers through the e-publishing maze', the aim of this free event is to inform production, editorial and executive publishing staff how organisations can benefit from the tangible savings in time and costs that new technologies can offer for both print and electronic publications. In addition, delegates will learn about 'monetising content', enabling them to make more money from existing content through new and different applications.

In brief, the seminar programme will cover ePub 'explained'; express automatic paging (saving days from production schedules); semantic tagging for the web; and integration of workflows with third parties. Following lunch there will be an open forum discussion with the opportunity to question the experts; and the final session will examine the benefits of automating print buying processes from online ordering through to payment handling with real-time tracking.

The event will take place on Wednesday 30th June at the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, 1 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AF.
